If there are boats left over, walk-ups can rent too. Just call the morning of. Walk-up reservations are phone-only because boats fill up first by guests who booked the cabin. If you are driving up from Phoenix for a day on the water, call ahead, and Chuck will tell you straight whether anything is open.

Pontoon Boat

The family boat. Plenty of room to spread out, casting space all around. The one most groups end up renting.

Included

Life jackets for every person on the boat. Fishing boats include the electric trolling motor. Dock space.

You bring

Fishing license (anyone 10+, buy at azgfd.gov). Bait. Cooler. Sunscreen. Water for the dog if she's coming. A $29 Fishing Pole & Kit is available at the office if you forgot a rod.

Weather

Boat rentals are non-cancellable once reserved. If weather shuts the dock down on the morning of your slot, Chuck will hold the next open slot for you at no extra charge.

Can I rent a boat without staying here?

Cabin guests get first pick. If there are boats left over, walk-ups are welcome. Call the morning of: (928) 368-9004.

Can I bring my own boat or canoe?

Yes. Rainbow Lake has some limits, but a public dock is nearby where a trailered boat can launch. Call ahead so Chuck can help you plan launch timing and parking.

Do you sell rods, tackle, or bait?

A $29 Fishing Pole & Kit (rod, line, hooks, basic tackle) is available at the office. Bring your own bait or call ahead to ask what is in stock.

Do I need a fishing license?

Yes, if anyone in your group is 10 or older. Buy it online at azgfd.gov before you come. Saves a trip.

What if it storms during my slot?

Boat rentals are non-cancellable once reserved. If weather shuts down the dock the morning of, Chuck will hold the next open slot for you at no extra charge.

How early should I show up?

Ten minutes before your slot. Chuck checks life jackets and walks you down to the dock.
