Why guests come back

The lake is the whole point.

You're not booking a room near a lake. You're staying on the water, with a boat down the path and trout swimming under your dock.

Right on Rainbow Lake

Every cabin sits on the water. Walk out the door, you're at the lake. No driving, no loading up the family for "lake day."

Boats on-site

Pontoons, fishing boats, kayaks, paddle boats, canoes, aqua cycles. Rent the morning of, no trailer needed.

Bring the dog

12 of 13 cabins are pet-friendly. $19 per pet, two max. The whole family comes — including the four-legged ones.

Cook in, grill out

Kitchens or kitchenettes in every cabin. Grill on the deck, fire pit by the water, dinner with a lake view.

Chuck's on-site

Liz and Chuck have run this place since 2012. Call before you book — Chuck will help you pick the right cabin.

Questions guests ask

The honest answers.

Can I fish right from the cabin?

Yes. Cabins sit on Rainbow Lake. You can fish off our pier or step into the water from your doorstep. Boats help you reach the better spots — we rent those on-site.

Are pets allowed?

Yes — 12 of our 13 cabins are pet-friendly. $19 per pet per stay, two pet max. We've got a yard and the lake's right there for the dog to drink from.

Do I need a fishing license?

Anyone 10 and older needs a current Arizona Game and Fish license. Buy it online at azgfd.gov before you come up. Saves you a trip to town.

What fish are in Rainbow Lake?

Rainbow trout (stocked March-July), largemouth bass, channel catfish, bluegill, green sunfish, black bullhead, and northern pike. Trout's the easy one. Bass take more patience.

Can I rent a boat if I'm not staying here?

Our guests get first pick. If we have boats left over, walk-ups can rent too. Call the morning of: (928) 368-9004.

What's the cell signal like?

Verizon works fine. AT&T is spotty in spots. Wi-Fi in every cabin if you need to check in with work.

Is the kitchen stocked?

Pots, pans, plates, silverware, coffee maker. Bring your own coffee, oil, salt, and pepper. Grocery store is 8 minutes away in Show Low.

How far from Phoenix?

About 175 miles, 3 hours up SR-260. Easy drive, scenic. You'll feel 20° cooler when you get out of the truck.

One honest thing up front: Rainbows End is a classic lake resort, not a luxury hotel. People come here for the water, the cabins, the fishing, and the quiet. If that's the trip you want, you'll feel at home. If you want spa towels and a turn-down service, this isn't it — and we'd rather tell you now than at check-in.

Not sure which cabin fits?

Call us. We'll help you pick the right one for your group, your trip, and your dog.
